Effective 1 May 2010, the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) will require a UCR number to be supplied in respect of exports to Botswana in the normal UCR format. It is important that the UCR number provided to the bank matches the UCR number provided to SARS when the goods are cleared for export as the Reserve Bank will electronically match these numbers. In addition to the above it is no longer a requirement to supply an ECN number to the bank for exports to CMA countries (Lesotho, Swaziland and Namibia ) and Botswana.
