Other information:

Thank you for the interest you have shown in the above short course.

This short course deals with the following subjects;

  • How Cargo Insurance works – understanding concepts and vocabulary.
  • Seafreight, Airfreight, Roadfreight, Rail Freight - all modes covered
  • Working with the ‘other party’s’ insurance – what to look out for.
  • Understanding the contract warranties
  • Calculating the correct Basis of Valuation.
  • Preserving the integrity of the contract and therefore any subsequent claim.

* Insurance and transit risks
* Self Insurance, the pros and cons!
* All Risks! – (Is it actually All Risks?)
* When are you exposed as a Buyer or Seller?
* Merchant haulage or Carrier haulage – are you exposed?

* Are you managing your risks?
* Are you fully aware of all the Marine Insurance options?
* Two International Commercial Terms Obligate Insurance – Is this adequate?

This course is based on the 2009 revision of the Institute of Cargo Clauses. It includes the all new Marine Insurance Flow Chart which is not yet available for sale - only available as course material.

-The short course runs for 4 hours, including one coffee break of 15 minutes duration, and provides an excellent forum for ‘questions and answers’ where the basic material may be expanded to cover ‘live’ issues. The course costs include a Pdf copy of the Power Point presentation used in the short course.

This short course is for everyone involved in Imports and/or Exports. It is relevant regardless of whether their outlook is as the Importer/Exporter directly or as a Service Provider to the Importer/Exporter, Seafreight, Airfreight or Roadfreight

The trouble with using experience as your teacher is that the final exam often comes before the first lesson.
